Food Safety Training

As part of Law At Work's Health & Safety service, we are now offering Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)Level 4 Award in Food Safety.

Who needs this qualification?
From food business owners to trainers, from production to hygiene auditors, this qualification meets the food industry’s need for a high level practical qualification with external accreditation. Managers, supervisors and senior hygiene personnel such as:
  • production managers
  • trainers
  • owners or managers of food businesses
  • supervisors with intermediate food hygiene knowledge
  • hygiene auditors
  • shift managers or supervisors
This qualification is also suitable for those wishing to deliver CIEH food safety qualifications as part of their training provision.

Why is this training important?
Beyond being accountable, it is important for everyone in a managing or supervising position to have mastered the principles of good practice in food safety, thus gaining the ability to guide and advise on the management of food hygiene in a food business.

The CIEH Level 4 Awards in Food Safety has been designed to provide an in-depth understanding of food safety with an emphasis on the importance of the management of systems and staff.  It will include introduction to food safety management; ensuring compliance with legislation and industry guidance; food safety hazards; allocation of responsibilities; managing the operational requirements of a safe food business; cleaning and disinfection regimes; supplier quality and safety controls; pest controls; establish, implementation, monitoring and maintaining food safety management procedures; communication, sources of information and training.

Course dates:       
6 day course: 09.00 – 17.00. All sessions must be attended
17th & 18th June and 15th & 16th July and 5th & 6th August 2010
