For Channel Island industries, such as construction, hospitality and farming, the priority is obviously high. But even for office-based environments, it remains an important issue.
Employers have important responsibilities that range from ensuring the safety of pregnant women and young workers to checking office equipment such as computers and guillotines are working correctly.
Law At Work has designed it health & safety services to meet these needs. The services fall into three categories:
Compliance Plus
Law At Work’s health & safety Compliance Plus service is designed to ensure that the client’s business is compliant with all of the relevant health & safety laws and regulations, and goes beyond that by catering for expected developments.
The service includes:
Health & Safety Advisory Service
Law At Work provides 12-hour access to a team of specialist health & safety advisors equipped to give advice and guidance on every aspect of health & safety issues for our clients. Whether it’s technical information about the hazards of using a particular chemical, advice about carrying out a risk assessment for a pregnant worker, or support in the wake of a serious accident or incident, expert help is only a telephone call away.
Health & Safety Training
One of the main requests for tailored training is how to carry out a company’s own risk assessments. Through our training programme we train the health and safety management team in doing just this and supply documentation so they can document their findings. We are also very happy to train new comers to health & safety in the law in general and their obligation to comply and prevent any risk to the business. There are many aspects of health & safety that can be tailored to training at our client’s request and is a valuable additional support for a small fee.
Why is health and safety training important? Over 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million people are injured. Over two million suffer illnesses caused by, or made worse by, their work.
